Sawara Bath Stool Extra Large

Sawara cypress (Chamaecyparis pisifera) is a prized Japanese bath wood, valued for its subtle fragrance, natural antibacterial properties, and long-lasting water resistance.

Designed for use in the Japanese ofuro (bath), this bath stool provides comfortable seating while washing. The low, stable profile follows traditional Japanese bath culture, allowing for a relaxed, seated cleansing ritual.

Handcrafted in Japan by skilled artisans using sustainably sourced Sawara Cypress. Each piece carries the natural grain and character unique to handmade wooden goods.

Specifications

• Size: Approx. 30 cm width × 20 cm depth × 30 cm height (≈ 11.8 in × 7.9 in × 11.8 in)

Care:

• After each use, rinse off soap and shampoo and wipe it dry. Residue left on the wood can cause discoloration and mold.
• Store it outside the bathroom, for example in a dressing area. A humid bathroom encourages mold.
• Keep it away from direct sunlight, heaters, and dryers, which can cause warping and cracking.
• Check that the legs are steady before use. If they become wobbly with age, stop using the stool.
