Organic Japanese Tatami 176×176 cm (2-jo)
Organic Japanese Tatami 176×176 cm (2-jo)
You can refresh your tatami room just by laying the rug on. Use it to refresh sun-damaged tatami, or as a cover to prevent new tatami from getting dirty. We use domestically produced (Kyushu) rush grass with a length of 110-115 cm. We use about 92 cm of it. The edge will be somewhat white.
(This is not sun-damaged, but the color of the root and tip of the rush grass.) The longer the rush grass, the more luxurious it will be. The tip of the rush grass is reddish brown, the base is white, and the middle is blue (green). The more high-quality blue part in the middle is used, the stronger and more beautiful the finish will be.
In addition, the rush grass will be sun-damaged as it is used, but the more the blue part in the middle is used, the more evenly the whole grass will be sun-damaged and the more flavor it will have. We use domestically produced (Kyushu) rush grass. Each domestically produced rush grass is thick, has a thick outer skin, and has fine fibers, so it is elastic and durable.
Igusa grass has the characteristics of purifying the air, regulating humidity, and being stain-resistant. The grass is treated with Aomori Hiba (cypress) (antibacterial and deodorizing effect). Both sides can be used, making it economical..
Made in Japan by a rush-grass maker in Kyushu with more than 130 years of history. Each mat is woven from domestically grown igusa, prized for its thick, resilient stalks and its natural ability to regulate humidity and freshen the air.
