Foldable Yoga Tatami 70×180 cm

This is a tatami mat that combines Kurume weaving, which was created to make Kurume Kasuri, a traditional craft from the southern part of Fukuoka Prefecture, more accessible, with igusa, the material used for tatami mats. Igusa has humidity control and deodorizing properties, making it the perfect material for bedding.

Unlike fabrics, it is a natural function, so it is more reassuring. This natural function lasts semi-permanently, so you can use it for a long time. Igusa has a strong Japanese image and is often used in limited situations, but this product's Kurume weave edges make it easy to match with both Japanese and Western rooms.

Each domestically produced igusa stalk is thick, has a thick outer skin, and has fine fibers, so it is elastic and durable, so it will last a long time. The inner material is made of 20mm solid polyester cotton, which is resistant to sagging and has cushioning properties.

There are cases where it is difficult to store when not in use. This product is designed to be folded into six parts, so it can be folded compactly and is easy to store in gaps. Igusa grass is stain-resistant, so just regularly remove dirt with a dry rag or vacuum cleaner and dry in the shade to complete the maintenance.

Made in Japan by a rush-grass maker in Kyushu with more than 130 years of history. Each mat is woven from domestically grown igusa, prized for its thick, resilient stalks and its natural ability to regulate humidity and freshen the air.
